    It started with a restless night under the stars. One summer evening, our co-founder Max and a group of friends set out for a camping trip — grilling food, sharing stories, enjoying the freedom of the outdoors. But when it came time to sleep, the reality hit hard: the tents were stiflingly hot, making rest impossible. Desperate for relief from the oppressive heat, they abandoned their tents for the cooler night air, and sprawled out under the vast, star-dusted open sky. That night, Max voiced a question that would change everything: "With all the technology we have, why is there no real air conditioner for outdoor life?" That simple frustration lit the spark for ZERO BREEZE.

    Zero Breeze builds battery-powered portable air conditioners designed for tents and small spaces off the grid. Its AC/heater unit is what ADDAX includes in the All Season Package to make the Basecamp V3 usable through summer heat and freezing nights alike.

    The problem it solves

    A rooftop tent is a comfortable place to sleep in a narrow temperature band. Outside that band — a desert night that never drops below 85°F, or a late-season hunt at 20°F — sleep quality decides whether the trip is worth repeating.

    Rooftop air conditioning normally means shore power or a generator. A portable battery-capable unit runs off the trailer's electrical system instead, which is why it fits an off-grid trailer rather than a campground camper.

    How it works with the Basecamp's power system

    The Basecamp carries a 100 Ah lithium battery with up to 220 W of solar input, a DC-to-DC charger that refills the battery while you drive, a 1500 W inverter (4,500 W peak surge) and shore-power pass-through. Climate control is the heaviest load in that system, so the All Season Package pairs the Zero Breeze unit with an Expion360 portable solar bundle to help keep up with it.

    Realistically, expect climate control to be the thing that determines your overnight power budget. Insulating the sleeping space first makes everything else easier, which is why the same package includes an insulated rooftop tent liner and 270° awning wind and weather walls.
