    What autoevolution covered

autoevolution spent some time with the Basecamp V3 and zeroed in on the thing that separates it from a box on wheels — you spec it. Kitchen, power, storage, tent, add-on packages. Start with the bones and bolt on whatever your kind of trip demands.

Ancuta Iosub's piece runs through the V3 as a full off-grid setup rather than a weekend toy: sleep up top, cook out the back, keep the fridge cold, and stay gone longer than the average campground loop allows. It's a fair read of what we set out to do. Nobody rigs the same way twice, so we quit guessing and handed over the switches.

The word autoevolution reached for was "mighty," which we'll happily take. Mighty means it hauls, it takes abuse, and it doesn't need babying at the end of a rough road. Utility first — the good looks are a side effect of not cutting corners.

Poke at the configuration options yourself and see what your version looks like, or read the full V3 breakdown on the Basecamp page.
