    What Gear Patrol covered

Gear Patrol covered the Gladiator camper and put the emphasis where it belongs — this is a brand-approved system, not an aftermarket guess bolted to somebody's truck.

Getting a Jeep license means the engineering, the fit, and the finish all had to clear somebody else's standards on top of ours. Mounting points, loads, materials, safety. It's a long, tedious process with a lot of people saying no, and it's the reason the camper sits on the Gladiator like it was drawn there instead of adapted to it.

For an owner, approval is shorthand for peace of mind. You're not gambling your bed rails or your warranty on a garage fabrication with good photos.

The same license carries over to the Basecamp trailer, which went through its own version of that review process. If you want the towed take on the idea, dig into the specs and build it your way.
